Raees Fitness Center — gym and boxing club in Bahria Town Phase 7

Ladies only · 11:00 am – 5:00 pm · Six days a week

Ladies Gym in Bahria Town — Phase 7 & Phase 8

A reserved daytime window, a female coach on the Phase 8 team, and a women’s boxing squad that actually competes. Here is exactly what is on offer and what it costs.

Raees Fitness & Boxing Gym reserves 11:00 am to 5:00 pm for women, six days a week, at both of its Bahria Town branches — Phase 7 (2nd floor, Wallayat Complex, Emirates Plaza) and Phase 8 (1st floor, Burj Ul Sadiq, Abu Baker Avenue, Rawalpindi). Membership starts at Rs 4,500 a month for the strength floor and Rs 6,000 for cardio and strength, the same rates men pay. Frozan Ahmadzai coaches at the Phase 8 branch, so training with a female coach is possible. Women also train in the mixed evening boxing class at 6:00 pm, and the gym has a women’s boxing squad that competes and medals. The gym is closed on Sunday.

The question behind almost every search for a ladies gym in Bahria Town is not about equipment. It is: will I be the only woman in the room, and will somebody be watching me. That is a fair question and most gym websites answer it with a stock photograph.

The honest answer here has two halves. Between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm, six days a week, the floor is reserved for women — that is a scheduled window, not a corner of the gym. Outside those hours the floor is mixed, including the evening boxing class, where women train alongside men because several of them are competitive boxers.

What follows is the detail: the hours, the fees, which branch, who coaches, what the women’s squad has done, and — just as useful — the things we do not have, so you are not finding out on your first morning.

What is actually on offer

Six things worth knowing before you visit

  • A reserved window, not a corner

From 11:00 am to 5:00 pm the floor is the ladies’ floor, six days a week. Six hours a day is long enough to train around school runs, a shift or a university timetable rather than at one fixed class time.

  • A female coach on the team

Frozan Ahmadzai coaches at the Phase 8 branch. If training with a female coach is what decides whether you start at all, say so when you message and the induction is arranged that way.

  • The women’s squad competes

This is not a gym where women do light cardio while the men lift. There is a women’s boxing squad, it goes to competitions, and it comes back with medals and a winners’ trophy. Both are photographed in the gallery.

  • The same rates, the same floor

Rs 4,500 a month for strength, Rs 6,000 for cardio and strength — identical to what men pay, on the same equipment. There is no reduced "ladies package" on a smaller room, because there is no smaller room.

  • Coached, not left alone

Every member gets an induction with a coach, and trainer packages put somebody on the floor writing the programme and correcting the lift. Being new is the normal starting point here, not something to get through quietly.

  • Two branches, one membership

Phase 7 on the Islamabad side and Phase 8 on the Rawalpindi side, both with the same ladies-only window. Use whichever is the shorter run on the day — the membership is with the gym, not with one address.

What you can train

Everything open to you during the ladies hours

The same floor and the same equipment — not a reduced version of the men's membership.

Strength and weights

Free weights, plate-loaded and cable machines — the same floor, during the ladies-only window. The single most common thing women arrive believing is that weights will make them bulky; your coach will explain why that is not how it works, and then show you, which is faster.

Cardio and conditioning

A full cardio zone on the Cardio + Strength package at Rs 6,000 a month. Useful on its own, and more useful bolted onto a lifting programme than used instead of one.

Boxing and self-defence

Girls and women box here, and the self-defence work — awareness, distance and escape rather than a workout class — is open to complete beginners. The coached boxing class runs 6:00 to 7:00 pm and is mixed; bag and pad work during the ladies-only window is not.

Weight loss, properly programmed

A calorie and protein target built around the food you actually cook, with training that keeps the muscle you already have. Not a crash plan, and nobody will try to sell you a tea.

Yoga and Zumba

Both are on the programme list. They run by arrangement rather than on the fixed evening timetable that boxing, karate and MMA follow, so message us about the current days and times before planning around them.

One-to-one coaching

Gym With Trainer is Rs 19,500 a month and Gym + Cardio + Trainer is Rs 25,500 — a coach with you for the session rather than somewhere in the building. Several women start here for a few months to build confidence on the floor, then move onto a standard membership.

The squad

The women here compete

Women's boxing squad holding the winners' trophy at a Prime Minister's Youth Programme event

The reason this page is not a stock photograph is the squad. Women from this gym train for competition, travel to it and come back with medals — there are photographs in the gallery of the women’s squad holding a winners’ trophy at a Prime Minister’s Youth Programme event, and of the squad standing with their coaches and their medals after a competition.

That changes the room even if you never intend to compete. In a gym where some of the women are preparing for bouts, a beginner lifting badly gets corrected rather than ignored, and nobody treats a woman asking for a heavier dumbbell as unusual.

If you do want to compete, say so at the induction. The training is different from the training somebody doing it for fitness gets, and so is the sparring load. If you do not, that is the normal case and nobody will push you towards it.

Your coach

Training with a female coach

Frozan Ahmadzai coaches at the Phase 8 branch, on Abu Baker Avenue. If training with a female coach is the thing that decides whether you start, ask for her by name when you message and the induction will be arranged that way. The rest of the coaching team covers both branches, and you are free to switch.

The whole coaching team

For parents

Signing up a daughter

Three questions come up every time, so here they are answered directly.

A good share of the enquiries about girls’ boxing come from parents rather than from the girl. The questions are usually the same three, so here they are answered directly.

Will she be made to spar? No. Sparring is supervised, controlled, and offered only once her defence holds up — which is weeks of stance, guard and footwork away. Plenty of members never spar at all.

Who will be coaching her? You can ask for the Phase 8 branch, where Frozan Ahmadzai coaches, and you are welcome to stay and watch the whole session. Watching a class before anybody pays anything is the normal way people join here.

What does she need to bring? Trainers she can move in, a t-shirt and water. No gloves, no wraps, no kit. Buy equipment once she knows she is staying, and ask the coaches first so the money is not wasted.

What we do not have

Better to read this now than to find it out on your first morning.

Outside 11:00 am to 5:00 pm the floor is mixed. If your requirement is a women-only facility at every hour, we are not that, and you should know before you visit rather than after.

There is no separate ladies entrance and no separate ladies floor. The window is a reserved time on the main floor, which is why it is six hours long and on the good equipment rather than a side room with three machines.

The gym is closed on Sunday, both branches, all day. If Sunday is your only free day this will not work.

We have not published a count of female members, a crèche, or female reception staff, because none of those has been confirmed and this is the wrong page to guess on. Ask on WhatsApp and you will get a straight answer about what is there today.

Starting out

Your first visit, step by step

  1. 1

    Message first

WhatsApp, with the branch that is nearer and whether you want the ladies-only window or the evening class. You will be told who to ask for when you arrive.

  2. 2

    Come and look

Visit during the ladies-only window and see the floor with your own eyes. The consultation and the tour cost nothing, and this is the part that settles it either way.

  3. 3

    The induction

A coach takes you through the floor and the equipment and asks what you are actually here for — strength, weight loss, boxing or confidence. The answer changes the programme.

  4. 4

    Start on a month

Rs 4,500 for strength or Rs 6,000 with cardio. A month is long enough to know, and there is no reason to commit to a year before you do.

Where members travel in from

Both branches sit inside Bahria Town, so these runs stay off the main city roads.

  • Bahria Town Phase 7

The main branch, 2nd floor Wallayat Complex, Emirates Plaza — Islamabad side. The ladies-only window runs here on the same hours.

  • Bahria Town Phase 8

Burj Ul Sadiq, Abu Baker Avenue, Rawalpindi side, and the branch with a female coach on its team. Closest for Safari Valley and the Business District.

  • Bahria Town Phase 4 & Civic Center

The Civic Center gyms are closer, and some of them have a ladies section. What they generally do not have is a reserved six-hour window on the main floor and a competing women’s boxing squad.

  • Bahria Town Phase 1, 2 & 3

Questions

Ladies gym — frequently asked

What are the ladies timings?
11:00 am to 5:00 pm, six days a week, at both branches. The gym is closed on Sunday. Outside that window the floor is mixed, including the 6:00 pm boxing class.
Is there a ladies gym in Bahria Town Phase 7 or Phase 8?
Both. The ladies-only window runs at Phase 7 (2nd floor, Wallayat Complex, Emirates Plaza) and at Phase 8 (1st floor, Burj Ul Sadiq, Abu Baker Avenue, Rawalpindi), and one membership covers both.
How much does a ladies membership cost?
Rs 4,500 a month for the strength floor and Rs 6,000 for cardio and strength — the same rates as everybody else. Couple and group packages are Rs 5,500 per person. Boxing and MMA classes are priced separately at Rs 10,000 a month with a one-off Rs 20,000 registration fee.
Is there a female gym trainer?
Yes — Frozan Ahmadzai coaches at the Phase 8 branch. Ask for her by name when you message if you would rather train with a female coach.
Do you have boxing classes for girls?
Yes. Girls and women box here and the gym has a women’s squad that competes and medals. Bag and pad work can be done inside the ladies-only window; the coached class at 6:00 to 7:00 pm is mixed.
Can women do MMA or kickboxing here?
The MMA public class runs 8:00 to 9:00 pm, six days a week, and is open to women on the same terms as everybody else — Rs 10,000 a month plus the Rs 20,000 registration fee. Karate runs 5:00 to 6:00 pm. For anything else, ask before you join rather than assuming it runs.
Is the gym women-only all day?
No. It is women-only from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and mixed outside that. If you need a women-only facility at every hour, we are not that.
Is there a separate ladies entrance or a separate floor?
No. The ladies-only window is a reserved time on the main floor — which is the reason it runs six hours a day on the full equipment rather than in a side room.
Will I have to spar if I take up boxing?
No. Sparring is supervised, controlled and only offered once your defence holds up, and plenty of members train for the fitness and the skill and never spar at all.
I have never trained before. Is that a problem?
It is the normal case. Every member starts with an induction, and the first weeks are about learning the movements properly rather than doing a lot of them.
Can I visit before joining?
Yes, and you should. Come during the ladies-only window, look at the floor and ask whatever you want. The consultation and tour are free.
Do you run yoga or Zumba for women?
Both are on the programme list, but they run by arrangement rather than on the fixed evening timetable. Message us for the current days before you plan around them.

If you are deciding whether to start at all, the thing that settles it is twenty minutes on the floor during the ladies-only window, which costs nothing.

Message on WhatsApp with the branch that is nearer and whether you want the daytime window, the boxing class, or a female coach. You will get a straight answer about the hours, the fee, and who to ask for when you arrive.
